The Raiders played their 3rd game of the season on Saturday against the Central Coast Sharks. The Sharks were 1-2 coming into the game with a win over the Cobras in Round 1 and a loss to the Pirates in Round 2. The Raiders were 0-2 coming into the game with a loss to both UTS and the Sutherland Seahawks.   For the Raiders it was another opportunity to improve  and improve they did with key plays being made on Offense, Defense and Special Teams.  The Sharks put the early bite on the Raiders  scoring two 1st half Touchdowns and they were up 14-0  at Half Time. In the 2nd half The Raiders Offense started to click and they scored 27 points with 4 Touchdowns and converted 3 extra points.  The Defense also played well and made the big plays when they needed to with two good interceptions and a fumble at the end of the game on their own 5 yard line which prevented the sharks from Scoring. Head Coach Paul Manera was really happy with his teams performance…” This was a great all round team victory, I am really proud of the way the boys came together and supported each other for the entire game..  Although the Raiders won the game thay had to play through some adversity as they had three Touchdowns called back for two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and a false start on the Offensive Line.  This weekend the Raiders travel up to the Central Coast where they will play against the Newcastle Cobras Saturday 22 Spetember @ Slade Park, Budgewoi. Kick Off is @ 4pm
